The Atomic Tour switches to a lower gear for Day 8, as Dave and Tara enjoy a nice sleep-in, and then a nice Mexican lunch, a nice amble around Bozeman, a nice family film, and then a nice sunset drive along the picturesque Gallatin River. All in all, it was a very nice day — but that’s not to say that leaves nothing to talk about for podcasting purposes, as Tara tries to say one or two things about her first laundromat experience in recent memory, until Dave shouts her down to rant at length about license-plate designs. And we do mean “at length.”

Montana does have, in addition to its “Choose Life” license plate, one for Planned Parenthood.

But I, too, find the sponsored-license-plate thing completely and utterly tasteless and out of hand. RUH!

I’m glad you enjoyed Bozeman and Big Sky. We spent a week out there last June and loved it. Heebs cracked me up, too. I remember some odd rule about it being okay to buy wine but not beer on Sunday. I assume you’re venturing in to see Yellowstone — an incredible place.
I also want to say I’m thoroughly enjoying your podcasts — it’s fun to go on a vicarious vacation.

Dave, I’m totally with you on the license plate thing. I live in Florida, where there are literally more than one hundred different license plate designs to choose from. More than one hundred. It drives me batshit. I am surprised that this hasn’t been opposed by law enforcement. In Florida at least they’re still stamped.

P.S. Do you hate me because my car has this license plate?

You all are making me miss Montana. Stop that. I don’t want to move back there because it is impossible to find a job that pays more than minimum wage, like, anywhere. (I had the Glacier Park license plate when I lived there.)

Awwwwwww. Can I just say how much I love the song “American” by Simon and Garfunkel? Every time it’s on it makes me nostalgic for the cross-country trip I never took, but have always wanted to. (sniff) Keep up the good work, you two.
