Day 9 is, bar none, the Yellowstoniest day of the trip so far. Dave and Tara head back into Wyoming to the giant national park that is Yellowstone, to see all the amazing sights: hot springs, mud volcanoes, chipmunks, Old Faithful, old biddies, the Continental Divide, and snow in June! Amazing! Then, there’s just a bunch of Idaho, which just goes on and on and on. But before that, the Yellowstone part of the day was really pretty impressive. Listen to the podcast and prepare to learn a lot about hydrogeology as understood by random eight-year-olds.

I can’t listen anymore because Tara has violated the integrity of the same-day podcast illusion.
Kidding. I like to hear your impressions of your fellow travelers, especially the little kids.

Heh, that actually was the first one not recorded on the same day of travel. Well, that and day 11 (tonight) which will have to be recorded tomorrow because I am dead tired.

Dude, maybe this was the kid that ran out in the street!
“A 12-year-old boy is in the hospital after a bison he was posing near flipped him in the air at Yellowstone National Park.
The Pennsylvania boy’s condition was not available after the attack Thursday.
Park officials say the boy was posing with family members within a couple of feet of the mature bull bison.
Park rules require visitors to stay at least 25 yards from bison.”

Heh. Love how that story basically points out that it’s the kid’s own fault for violating the “25 yards” rule.
Oh, and just to answer a comment on the podcast about whether people (aka: hippies) who walk into Yellowstone are charged an entrance fee … Yes, they are. $12.
