The Atomic Tour has been rolling strong for two full weeks! Dave and Tara celebrate by leaving Las Vegas without performing any homage to Lost In America; admiring the effort taken by the designers of the Hoover Dam to slap nature square in the face; visiting more antique shops; failing to drink homemade root beer; and generally enjoying the latest state to join the big tour. Take a bow, Arizona, you never-changing-the-clocks-for-Daylight-Savings-Time maverick, you.

Speaking as a girl, I have to say I love cherry bombs — I think we grew up calling them snappers — but they were illegal in MN. You had to go to WI to get them. And while I didn’t make the correlation back then, because I was just so Minnocent, I think they look like joints.

Oh, yes, they most certainly were illegal in MN. Freaking SPARKLERS were illegal in MN, which I know because I had to draft the yearly legislative proposals to legalize some combination of small July 4th fireworks. Which, actually, I think eventually passed, but I’m not sure whether it applied to cherry bombs. I’m pretty sure sparklers are legal now, so Happy Fourth Of July!
I am DETERMINED to get use out of a lot of useless knowledge. DETERMINED.

I have found it hilarious how the “This is the Atomic Tour” announcement at the beginning of every podcast has gotten a little bit less cartoony every day since day 1 and we are now at the point where it is just regular talking.

I can say with authority that either sparklers are now legal in Minnesota, or else the Giant family is a bunch of scofflaws.
